Knitting season

I'm making a hat right now, with a zigzaggy pattern that I penciled out on graph paper. It's coming along amazingly fast, and I'm already thinking about what to knit next. Something about the colder weather really brings out the bug.

Maybe it's because knitted things are just so snuggly. And it's easy to do cuddled into the couch with a blanket over your lap.

I got some fantastic two-stranded black-and-white baby alpaca yarn that I haven't quite decided what do do with. It's so incredibly soft and fuzzy and delicious, and I'd really like to try making a sweater out of it, but (a) I don't have enough for a sweater, and (b) I've never made a sweater. I have to do something with it, though, aside from rub my face on it and snuggle with it when no one's looking. A scarf, maybe, because I can always use another scarf. Except I'm kind of tired of making scarves. Hmmm.
